14th and 15th of October

last bells toll
an empty field-- now
windswept by children

lofty thoughts
borne unto the wind--
scattered birds

From 8th of July to the 8th of October

8th July, 2010

Ten thousand leaves each one arching downwards, curled into their vascular ribs;

like fetal shapes and memories
an evanescent frost upon the rising sun.

25th July 2010

canopy like cloth-
each step carrying silence-
how I am muted!

1st August 2010

wind cuts the blossoms-
the last train curves out of sight
to be no longer

19th August 2010

shall my lineage
not inherit the wind
in flowers of blood

by their dewdrops
shiv'ring upon morning-
a cloak of petals

15th September 2010

snaking through the ribs
of a lost shopping cart-
cold evening breeze

2nd October, 2010

little sandals
and the cicada's skin-
never to be worn again

8th October, 2010

I

seeds in the wind
beyond a dying brook
sparrows in flight

II

with lonely steps
as it set fire to the clouds
her summer dress

Last three undated items

the smell of rain

Falling leaf
into hours of sky;
the shadows we have borne

though a dirty puddle
laced with clouds-
forever could I fall.

Distance

The moon has fallen
into a falling wine cup-

sunlight stains the floor
and a wedge of birds
shimmer over the grasses:

the skein has flown by,
my bones away with them.

Ghosts of memories
surrounded by falling leaves-
silently fill the grove

how enviously watching-
many sunsets
behind the shadows

my cold, empty palms;
this ancient skyline;
such a fragile dream.

Exposure of the sun:
two shadows once together-
now parted;

flightless raven,
your feathers carried
by ants upon the dust.

Second blog post

There has already been a handful of words arranged relative to this blog, and, to provide some recent background, I would like to share them.

Below is a collection of sorts of poems, from most recent to earliest. This has been done as a means of not flooding the blog with a collection of entries upon it's creation.  I have other poems but they are not of this genre, if you will. They can be found @ http://allpoetry.com/Skylarking

First blog post

As the title explains: this is my first blog post. I won't be getting personal or emotive. First and foremost, this blog is a means to collect fleeting thoughts and archive them. Something cathartic, if you will. This blog will mostly contain short entries, with a similitude to that of poetry.

I thoroughly enjoy the haikai no renga masters Issa, and Basho. What I write is a bastardization of the spirit of these men. You have been made aware.
